About Us

Charlie"s Bistro first opened back in 2014 by chef/patron Sean Barber with the help of his wife and daughters.


Charlie’s serves a wide range of Tapas dishes from all over the Mediterranean, French Bistro dishes, British favourites and of course the quintessential Sunday Lunch.


Sean has over 35 years experience in the catering industry and has recently attended further courses at high-end cookery schools including  Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire to expand the restaurants repertoire. He is also The CVB Balanced Health Resident Chef (online) and regularly creates menu plans and recipes specifically to meet their client’s needs.  


Since opening Charlie’s had achieved 5 stars in the ‘Scores on the doors’ Hygiene rating system from Canterbury City Council every year and currently has a 5 star customer rating on Facebook.  


Open Wednesday through to Sunday, snacks & light lunches can be enjoyed during the day with the restaurant serving a wide range of Tapas & Bistro style dishes weekend evenings. Sundays are special with a choice

of three different roasts each week alongside

homemade cauliflower cheese, local vegetables, red wine & herb gravy, roast potatoes and crispy yorkshire puddings.
